Promote posts: pinned and recurring
Pin a post to the top of your feed or make it reappear every few cards. Your two sellable placement units.
Promotions turn ordinary posts into paid placement. Every promotion is still a normal post underneath, just elevated in the feed in one of two ways.
The two modes
| Mode | What it does |
|---|---|
| Pinned | Always appears first in the feed. Multiple pinned posts form an ordered block at the top. |
| Recurring | Reappears every N cards as readers scroll. |
A post can use either mode or both. A post with both shows "Pinned · Every 6" in the Promotions table.
Turning them on
Open the post in the editor and go to the Promotion tab (the fifth tab, after Social). Two independent toggles:
- Pin to top. Pinned posts always appear first in the feed. Reorder them on the Promotions page.
- Recurring. This post reappears at a set interval as readers scroll. Enabling it reveals a Repeat every N cards stepper (minimum 2, default 6). The pinned block does not count toward the interval.
Recurring also has an optional Schedule with a Start date & time toggle, an End date & time toggle, and a Time zone dropdown (default America/New_York). Leave both date toggles off and the status reads Active — runs until turned off.
Promotion settings save on drafts too. The Promotions page will show the promotion as Active, but nothing appears publicly until you publish the post.
Managing promotions
Each feed's sidebar has a Promotions page (between Posts and Queue). It is a searchable, filterable table with columns for Title, Type (badges: PINNED, EVERY N, or "Pinned · Every 6"), Status, Schedule ("Runs indefinitely" when unscheduled), and Last Updated.
Each row's menu has:
- Edit — opens the post editor on the Promotion tab.
- End Promotion — switches the promotion off. The post itself is untouched: not deleted, not unpublished, just reverted to a normal post.
Reorder pinned posts on this page to control the order of the pinned block.
The Promotions page has no "New" button. You create a promotion from inside a post. The empty state points you back to Posts.
You can also filter the Posts list by promotion status: All posts or Promoted. A Promotion column shows which posts are elevated.
Selling it
These are your two sellable placement units.
- Pinned = guaranteed top-of-feed placement. It is the premium slot. Because pinned posts are ordered, you can sell position #1 versus position #2 as separate tiers.
- Recurring = frequency-based placement. "Your card every 6 cards." A tighter interval means more impressions per reader, and prices accordingly.
- Schedule = campaign windows. Sell "the week of the festival" with a start and end, or leave it open-ended for a retainer.
These pair naturally with the coupon book, home-pro, and open-house playbooks: pinned for the weekly headline deal, recurring for retainer clients, scheduled promotions for agent campaigns around a specific weekend.
End Promotion just reverts the post to a normal post. Use it when a campaign ends or a sponsor churns — the post stays live in the regular feed rotation.
